Gujarat shooter Smit Moradia missed the gold medal by a margin of 0.1 points.

Amid setbacks for India's top rifle shooters Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar and Sift Kaur Samra, Smit Rameshbhai Moradia won a silver medal in the men's 10m air rifle championship at the World Universities Shooting Championships. Moradia was the only Indian shooter to win a medal.

Olympian Tomar finished fifth in this event. Samra, a female shooter competing at the Paris Games, finished fourth in the women's 50m rifle three-position event. Gujarat's Moradiya missed the gold medal by a narrow margin. He finished the final with 252.1 points, just 0.1 points behind Jiri Privatsky of the Czech Republic.
