Heavy rains have caused havoc in Gujarat. Flood-like conditions have been created in about a dozen districts including Kutch. Due to continuous rains in the state for the last three days, the rivers are flowing at a worrying level. Low lying areas of many districts are flooded. In the last 3 days, 15 people have died due to Meghraj in Gujarat while 318 people have been rescued. More than 23 thousand people have been forced to migrate.
Due to heavy rains today more than 18 districts in school -Colleges are closed. This includes Ahmedabad as well. Universal rainfall was recorded in 245 talukas of Gujarat in the last 24 hours.

If we look at the current situation in Gujarat, the state has received 33 percent more rainfall than the average. For the third consecutive year, the state has received more than 100 percent of the season's rainfall. The situation was the same in the last two years. Heavy rain has occurred in all zones of the state except North Gujarat. 25 percent of the rain has occurred in the last 4 days. 80 percent of the area in Vadodara is submerged in water.

However, as the system is now moving forward and breaking up, the intensity of rain in the city is likely to decrease for the next 4 days. On Monday, Ahmedabad was on a red alert. But now an orange alert has been given. That means now light to heavy rain showers can occur.
