Gujarat Jivdori Sardar Sarovar Dam is 54% full, know the status of major reservoirs of the state

Gujarat has witnessed good rainfall since the beginning of the season. Due to good rains, there has been a good inflow of water in most of the reservoirs of Gujarat.

Due to heavy rains in the state, water storage in the state's life-giving Sardar Sarovar Yojana has increased to more than 54 percent. At present, 1,81,229 MCFt i.e. 54.25 percent of the total storage capacity of water has been stored in Sardar Lake.

Apart from this, 1,98,227 MCM i.e. 35.38 percent of the total storage capacity of water has been recorded in 206 reservoirs of the state.

According to data till July 18, three reservoirs in Saurashtra have completely overflowed due to the rains for the last two days. In which Wagadia and Sasoi-2 dams in Jamnagar district and Vansal dam in Surendranagar district have been put on high alert as they are 100 percent full.

Apart from this, eight dams of the state are on alert with 80% to 90% filling, which include Ojat-2 and Bantva-Kharo dams of Junagadh, Godadhroi of Morbi, Bhadar-2 of Rajkot and Dholi and Baldeva, Fuljar of Bharuch. Jamnagar K-1 and Saran dam of Porbandar have been put on alert.

A total of seven reservoirs in the state have been warned to be 70 per cent to 80 per cent full, including Phuljar (KB), And-3 and Ruparel in Jamnagar district, Aji-2 and Nyari-2 in Rajkot and Dholidhaja dam in Surendranagar.

Apart from this, 38.57 percent water is stored in 13 reservoirs of South Gujarat, 37.23 percent water is stored in 17 reservoirs of Central Gujarat, 31.54 percent water is stored in 141 reservoirs of Saurashtra, 26.33 percent water is stored in 15 reservoirs of North Gujarat, 22.92 percent water is stored in 20 reservoirs of Kutch.
