Gandhinagar News: New fishing season dated Gujarat fishermen have praised Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Fisheries Minister Raghavji Patel for the state government's decision to start the new fishing season from August 15 instead of August 1.
Keeping in mind the monsoon season in Gujarat, the fishing season was declared from 1 June to 31 July. Due to the change in monsoon due to the present time and global warming, there are low pressure and storms in the sea during monsoon especially in the early days of August for the last 5-7 years. In view of the high wave conditions due to strong currents in the sea, presentations were made by the boat associations of each port of Gujarat to start the fishing season from August 15 instead of August 1.
This matter is being taken seriously in the state. The Gujarat government has taken a decision this year to ensure that no fisherman suffers loss of life or property due to sea storm in the season starting from August 1. It was decided to start the fishing season from August 15 instead of August 1. Some fishing boat associations of Gujarat thanked Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Fisheries Minister Raghavji Patel in Gandhinagar today for this fisherman-oriented decision of the state government.
