Ramgarh, 3 December (Hindustan Reporter). On Tuesday, the GST team conducted a major raid in the plant of the state’s well-known industrialist Ramchandra Rungta. Apart from Jharkhand Ispat located at Argadda Road in Ramgarh district, Maa Chhinnamastika Sponge Iron of Barkakana area and Alok Steel Plant of Kuju OP area, raids are being conducted in the office of Jahaz Kothi in Ramgarh city.
GST officials suspect that Ramchandra Rungta is evading government tax through his firm. Even in proportion to the amount of tax that they should have paid, they have not yet deposited it. GST officials started raiding all the locations simultaneously. Officers entered all the plants and offices simultaneously in four-five vehicles and seized the plant documents. During this time, mobile phones of all the employees and officials present there were also confiscated and switched off. Even landline phones were completely shut down. The team of officials is examining all the documents present in the plant and office.
The raid created a stir
After the raid by GST officials, there was panic at all places. The officials visited the entire plant including the plant’s warehouse and office and took stock. No one was allowed to enter the plant. Whatever vehicle was carrying some goods was checked. Many cases including purchase and sale documents of sponge, coal, iron, stock and equipment required for running the company are being investigated.
