GST collection increased by 8 percent to Rs. 1.74 lakh crore in June 2024

New Delhi: Sources said today that the total GST collection has increased by eight per cent to Rs 1.74 lakh crore in June 2024. However, according to sources, the government has stopped releasing official figures of GST collection.

Sources said that the total GST collection so far in the current financial year (April-June) has been Rs 5.57 lakh crore. It is worth noting that the GST collection in May 2024 was Rs 1.73 lakh crore. The GST collection of June 2024 is 8 percent more than June 2023. The GST collection in June 2023 is Rs 1.61 lakh crore.

In the total GST collection of Rs 1.74 lakh crore till June 2024, the Integrated GST was Rs 39,586 crore and the State GST was Rs 33,548 crore. In April 2024, the GST collection was the highest ever at Rs 2.10 lakh crore. According to sources, the government has said that it will no longer release any official data on GST collection.

According to experts, the GST collection figures for June 2024 show a boom in a strong economy. The tax department as well as the business world have an important role in the growth of GST. Experts said that a significant increase in collection is expected to push GST reforms forward.
