Varanasi, 23 October (HS). The Inter-Faculty Swimming Championship (Men and Women) in Banaras Hindu University (BHU) got off to a great start on Wednesday. Chief Proctor of the University, Professor Shiv Prakash Singh inaugurated the competition. Players from 13 faculties are participating in the competition.
Organizing Secretary Dr. Kavita Verma in men's category and Dr. Priyanka Yadav in women's category said that on the first day of the competition, Aditya Sahni (Faculty of Arts) stood first in swimming 400 meter freestyle men's category, Kunal Singh (IMS) stood second. Shashwat Kumar (Social Science) stood third. Similarly, in the women's category, in 400 meter freestyle, Ayushi Upadhyay (Faculty of Law) stood first, Dhruvi Singh (MMV) stood second, Bhavana Malviya (MMV) stood third.
In the 200 meter best stroke swimming competition, Aditya Sahni of Arts Faculty stood first, Gaurav Mishra of Arts Faculty stood second, Kunal Singh of IMS stood third. In the women's category of the same competition, Bhavana Mishra of MMV stood first, Shambhavi Saha of MMV stood second, and Palak Bhawal of Commerce Faculty stood third. In the 100 meter men's category, Aditya Sahni (Arts Faculty) stood first, Siddharth Haldar (IMS) stood second, Pushkar Singh (Arts Faculty) stood third. In the 50 meter back stroke women's category, Dhruv Singh MMV stood first, Ayushi Upadhyay Faculty of Law stood second, Bhavana Malviya MMV stood third.
Similarly, in the 100 meter free style men's category, Aditya Sahni stood first, Gaurav Mishra of Arts Faculty stood second, Siddharth Haldar IMS stood third. In the 100 meter back stroke men's category, Aditya Sahni stood first, Pushkar Singh of Arts Faculty stood second, Shashwat Kumar of Social Sciences Faculty stood third. In the 200 meter individual medal women's category, Ayushi Upadhyay of Law Faculty stood first, Dhruvi Singh MMV stood second, Bhavana Malviya MMV stood third.
4 times 50 m. In the Freestyle Mix Relay men's/women's category, Arts Faculty stood first, Law Faculty stood second and Commerce Faculty stood third. In the men's category of 4×50 metres, the first position was taken by the Faculty of Arts, the second position was taken by IMS and the third position was taken by the Faculty of Social Sciences. On this occasion, Vice President of University Sports Council S.V.S. Raju, General Secretary Professor B.C. Kapri wished the players a good performance.
