Traveling from east to west in Uttar Pradesh is now going to become faster and easier. The government is preparing to build a brand new link expressway to directly connect the Agra-Lucknow Expressway to the Purvanchal Expressway. This will not be an ordinary road, but a magnificent 6-lane expressway, on which you will be able to drive at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour.

This expressway will be built at a cost of Rs 5000 crore

This approximately 50 kilometer long expressway will provide a direct and uninterrupted connectivity between eastern and western Uttar Pradesh. This entire project is estimated to cost around Rs 5000 crore from purchasing land to construction. The good news is that its construction can start this year itself.

The complete plan of this expressway has been prepared by the government and soon it will also get approval from the cabinet. After this the company will be selected to build it. This expressway will be so big and built keeping the future in mind that if needed, it can be expanded from 6 lanes to 8 lanes.

How will Lucknow get relief from jam?

The biggest benefit of this expressway will be given to the people living in Lucknow city. What currently happens is that big trucks and vehicles going from Agra Expressway to Purvanchal Expressway have to pass through Lucknow city. Due to this, there is severe traffic jam throughout the day in areas like Avadh Square, Telibagh, Arjunganj and Gosainganj. According to an estimate, about 70,000 vehicles pass through the city every day.

After the construction of this new link expressway, all this heavy traffic will move out of the city. This will reduce the pressure of vehicles inside the city and people will get relief from daily traffic jams.

From where to where will it be made and what will be special?

This expressway will start from the first toll plaza near Bahru on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway and will connect to the Purvanchal Expressway near Mahurakalan.

  • Will be green: A large number of trees and plants will be planted on both its sides.
  • water saving: There will also be arrangements to save rain water (rainwater harvesting).
  • Will be added further: The government also plans to connect this expressway with the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway in the future, which will further improve the connectivity of Kanpur and Unnao.

The road will pass through these villages

This expressway will pass through many villages around Lucknow like Adampur, Irkhara, Sikandpur, Kuraini, Parwar, Ullaskheda, Barkat Nagar and Kalpahasa etc.

This project will not only make the journey easier but will also give a new pace to the development of Uttar Pradesh.
