The government has taken steps to promote the use of eco-friendly vehicles in Uttar Pradesh. The UP government has announced to waive the registration fee on hybrid cars. This announcement will bring huge savings to the customers of Maruti, Honda and Toyota. According to an estimate, the customers of these companies can save up to Rs 3.50 lakh. Let us tell you that this new rule has come into effect from July 5.

Fees levied on vehicles in Uttar Pradesh

8% road tax is levied on vehicles priced below Rs 10 lakh. Apart from this, 10% road tax is levied on vehicles priced above Rs 10 lakh. Uttar Pradesh is one of the largest markets in terms of retail sales in the passenger wheels market.

UP's passenger vehicle retail sales grew 13.5 percent to 2.36 lakh units in H124. According to Uttar Pradesh dealers, the demand for Maruti Suzuki's hybrid vehicles will increase after this decision. Last year Maruti Suzuki sold 1,000 units of Grand Vitara and Invicto.
