Jaipur/Jodhpur, 28 August (HS). Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for including Jodhpur-Pali in the National Industrial Corridor Development Program (NICDP). Shekhawat said that this is good news for Jodhpur-Pali and the development of Jodhpur region is going to get new wings.
On Wednesday, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved 12 new project proposals with an investment of Rs 28,602 crore under NICDP, including Jodhpur-Pali.
Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister, Union Minister Shekhawat said that NICDP is very important in the unprecedented and result-oriented policies of Modi to promote economic development. Under this, the inclusion of “Jodhpur-Pali” from Rajasthan in the construction of “Industrial Smart Cities” will prove to be a decision that will bring about a great improvement in the standard of living of all the citizens of the region.
Shekhawat said that NICDP has been designed to foster a vibrant industrial ecosystem by facilitating investments from both large anchor industries and MSMEs. These industrial nodes will act as catalysts to achieve $2 trillion exports by 2030, reflecting the government's vision of a self-reliant and globally competitive India. He informed that the new industrial cities will be developed as greenfield smart cities of global standards, built “before demand” on 'plug-n-play' and 'walk-to-work' principle. The Union Minister said that the approval of these projects is a step towards realising the vision of 'Vikasit Bharat' – a developed India.
