Grand organization of Ganga Aarti by Concern for Calcutta and other organizations

Kolkata, March 04 (HS). City NGO Concern for Calcutta organized a socio-cultural program on creating awareness to keep river Ganga clean at Baje-Kadmatla Ghat near Babughat. After this the holy Ganga Aarti was performed by Devottara Jai ​​Chandi Thakurani Trust. Jalkatha of Calcutta a drama based story performed by Sukrit Sen, Swati Sharma, Zahid Hussain and their colleagues from Living Waters Museum and East India Dastango.

“Om Ganga” dance was presented by Ramayani Institute of Performing Arts, directed by Srita Banerjee Hazra. After this the grand holy Ganga Aarti was performed. Chief Guest Tarak Singh, Member Mayor in Council (Sewerage and Drainage), KMC appreciated Concern for Calcutta for spreading awareness about Ganga and its ghats and improving the lives of the people of Kolkata. He stressed the need to keep the river plastic free and clean and called for cooperation of citizens. Chairman Ashok Purohit welcomed all the participants and assured full cooperation from his NGO for a better and beautiful Kolkata.

Narayan Jain, Chairman of the Advisory Committee, gave information about the activities of Concern for Calcutta to protect the environment and better traffic in Kolkata. Soma Gomes, Vice Principal of Xavier's Collegiate School, was present as the guest of honor on the occasion. The program was conceptualized and implemented well by Secretary Joita Basu. Former Chairman B.G. Roy, Deepa Gangji, R.L. Audi, K.S. Officers, Deepak Jain, Pawan Pahadia provided active guidance. Dr. Purnendu Rai, K.C. Tiwari, B.L. Dugad, R.D. Kakra, Seema Sonthalia, Pushpa Aggarwal, K.N. Gupta, J.K. Sharma, Ramesh Mahajan, Vivek Sharma, Rachna Nahata, Priyam Budhiya, Sonali Dey, Olivia Dunlop, Ishwar Goenka, R.K.
