The world’s largest religious event Maha Kumbh Mela is going to start from next month in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The event will run from 13 January 2025 to 26 February 2025. The Maha Kumbh Mela is a unique display of India’s spirituality and cultural diversity.

Mahakumbh Mela 2025: Preparations complete

This time all the administrative and spiritual preparations for the Prayagraj Mahakumbh Mela have almost been completed. This event will last for about 45 days and crores of devotees are expected to come from not only India but also from abroad.

Difference between Mahakumbh and other Kumbh Melas

1. Maha Kumbh Mela

2. Purna Kumbh Mela

  • Held: Every 12 years at all four holy sites – Haridwar, Ujjain, Nashik and Prayagraj.

3. Ardh Kumbh Mela

  • Held: Every 6 years in Haridwar and Prayagraj.
  • Significance: It is an event held between Maha Kumbh and Purna Kumbh Mela.

4. Kumbh Mela

  • Held: Every 3 years at four holy sites.
  • Speciality: Small in size, but equally important for the devotees.
