Grand closing of UP TEX-2026, Yogi government’s emphasis on giving new impetus to textile industry

Lucknow, 9 September. Yogi government’s efforts towards making Uttar Pradesh a major textile and apparel manufacturing center of the country have got new strength through UP TEX-2026. The two-day event organized in Lucknow came to a grand conclusion on Wednesday. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak was the chief guest in the program, while Handloom and Textiles Minister Rakesh Sachan had a dignified presence. During this, letters of comfort, checks of financial incentives and MoUs were exchanged with industrial units. On the second day, important sessions were held on Sports Textiles, Sports Goods, Protective and Defense Textiles, Handicraft Exports and Textile Policy-2027.

UP is a state with immense potential: Deputy Chief Minister Pathak

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said that Uttar Pradesh is a state with immense potential and the region is moving forward under the leadership of Yogi government. He said that the Yogi government has given new strength to the handloom sector through markets, resources, subsidies, incentives and single window system.



UP will become a leading destination in technical and defense textile industry: Minister Rakesh Sachan

Handloom and Textiles Minister Rakesh Sachan said that the state is emerging as the country’s leading destination for technical textiles and defense textiles industries. He gave information about schemes like capital grant, employment generation incentive, training assistance and research and development cooperation.

Brainstorming on the potential of Uttar Pradesh in the field of sports textile and sports goods

An important session was organized on the topic ‘Game Plan UP: Building India’s Sports Textile and Sports Goods Powerhouse’. Senior textile ministry official Bhaskar Kalra described technical textiles as a fast-growing and high value-added sector. Experts pointed out the need to develop dedicated clusters, advanced testing laboratories, R&D centers and complete industrial ecosystem to make Uttar Pradesh a global hub of sports, protective and defense textiles.
