New Delhi/Raipur, 2 October (Hindustan Reporter). Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka paid tribute to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversary in a program organized at Chhattisgarh Bhawan in New Delhi on Wednesday. On this occasion, the Governor paid floral tributes to the photographs of great men and remembered their ideals.
The Governor said in his message that the entire life of the “Father of the Nation” Mahatma Gandhi, the top man of the Indian freedom struggle, teaches us the lesson of simplicity and non-violence. His precious thoughts will always show us the right path. He said that we need to implement his ideals in our behavior and conduct.
The Governor also remembered the country's second Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and said that his simplicity and honesty is an inspiration for everyone. Referring to Shastri ji's famous slogan “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan”, he said that his life even today symbolizes the ideals of simplicity and loyalty. Residential Commissioner Shruti Singh and other officers were also present on this occasion.
