Kolkata, August 29 (HS). West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose is leaving for Delhi on Thursday taking a quick decision. On Thursday, Bharatiya Janata Party state president Sukanta Majumdar and party leader Dilip Ghosh met the Governor at Raj Bhavan. Soon after this, the news came that the Governor will go to Delhi.
According to Raj Bhavan sources, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called the Governor to Delhi, leading to speculation that the current political situation in Bengal may be discussed.
On Tuesday, an organization called 'West Bengal Student Society' took out a protest march to Nabanna (State Secretariat), which was supported by the BJP. After this march, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a scathing attack on the BJP at the foundation day program of Trinamool Congress's student organization TMCP on Wednesday. Controversy also arose over some of her statements. On Wednesday, Sukanta Majumdar wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, objecting to the statements of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and demanding necessary action against her.
On Thursday, Sukanta Majumdar met Governor CV Anand Bose and expressed concern against the Chief Minister's statements. After coming out of the Raj Bhavan, Sukanta said that it is not appropriate to make such statements while holding the highest post in the state. The Chief Minister's statements are matching the statements of the Jamaat of Bangladesh. He has also spoken against states like Assam, Odisha. We told the Governor that the law and order of the state has collapsed, and he should take whatever constitutional steps he deems necessary.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said in a rally on Wednesday, “We had said, we don't want revenge, we want change. But now I say, whatever you want to do, do it with understanding.”
Sukant Majumdar, while referring to this statement in his letter to Amit Shah, said that I want to draw your attention to this shameless statement of the Chief Minister of West Bengal. Through this, she is encouraging the politics of revenge.
Apart from this, another statement of Mamata had created controversy in which she had said that if Bengal catches fire, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Delhi will also burn. After this statement of hers, BJP ruled states like Assam, Odisha had unitedly attacked Mamata. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma and Odisha Chief Minister Mohancharan Majhi had strongly condemned her statement. It is only after these incidents that the news of calling the Governor to Delhi has come to the fore.
