Jharkhand Cabinet decision: The state government will provide financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month to poor and needy women aged between 21 and 50 years in Jharkhand. This assistance will be given under the 'Mukhyamantri Mai Kui (sister-daughter) Swavalamban Yojana' and Rs 5,500 crore will be spent on it from the government treasury every year. More than two dozen welfare and populist schemes were approved in the cabinet meeting held on Friday evening under the chairmanship of CM Champai Soren.
Applications will be taken soon by organizing camps
Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel said that camps will be set up in the state to identify the beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Mai Kui (sister-daughter) Swavalamban Yojana and applications will be taken soon. The assistance amount will be sent directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
200 units of electricity will be available free
The cabinet has also approved the proposal to provide free electricity up to 200 units to the people of the state. Till now, people in the state did not have to pay any price for electricity up to 125 units.
Treatment of diseases up to Rs 15 lakh
The cabinet has also approved the Chief Minister Abua Health Scheme, under which people deprived of Ayushman Card will be given assistance up to Rs 15 lakh on the basis of ration card for the treatment of serious diseases. 33.44 lakh families will benefit from this scheme.
Other major decisions of the cabinet
The government will now provide assistance of Rs 60 lakh to the families of policemen who are martyred in the line of duty in Jharkhand. If they are injured during an encounter, the government will bear the cost of their treatment and air ambulance.
In another important decision, the government will provide aid of Rs 25,000 to candidates pursuing PhD to promote research work in universities.
