Kangana Ranaut's statement on agricultural laws: Kangana Ranaut, BJP MP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, has demanded that the three agricultural laws which were withdrawn by the central government after massive protests, should be brought back for the second time. All three laws are in the interest of farmers and they should demand their withdrawal. Kangana, who has been in the news many times for her statements, said that it is possible that there may be controversy over her statement but it should be implemented.
Kangana held a meeting with workers in Mandi's Nachan assembly on Monday and took part in the membership campaign. Meanwhile, what Kangana said in her media interview can once again lead to controversy. Which has already started with the opposition of Congress. The country's main opposition party has objected to Kangana Ranaut's statement.
Congress said on Twitter, 'The 3 black laws imposed on farmers should be withdrawn. This was said by BJP MP Kangana Ranaut. More than 750 farmers of the country were martyred. Only then did the Modi government wake up and withdraw these black laws. Now BJP MPs are planning to get this law repealed again. Congress is with the farmers. This black law will never be withdrawn. No matter how much Narendra Modi and his MPs try.
What did Kangana Ranaut say?
While talking to the media, Kangana Ranaut told about her association with a farmer family. She said, 'I think the laws that have been withdrawn for the farmers should be implemented again. It is possible that there may be controversy over this but I think that the farmer welfare laws should be withdrawn and the farmers themselves should demand it. So that like other places, our farmers are also prospering, there should be no hindrance in the prosperity of the farmers. Farmers are the main power pillars in the development of the country. I want them to appeal themselves that our three laws, which are objected to in some states, I request them with folded hands to withdraw those laws keeping in mind the interest of all the farmers.'
After massive protests the government withdrew the laws
The Modi government passed three agricultural laws in Parliament during its second term. These laws, namely the Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Act, 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020, sparked much protest. Farmers sat on dharna on the streets of Delhi for more than a year. In late November 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the repeal of all three laws, saying that he could not convince the farmers.
