Government should give respectable pension to Jharkhand agitators: BP Mehta

Hazaribagh, July 9 (HS). Jharkhand Aandolankari Morcha district unit held a one-day dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office on Tuesday regarding their demands. Mahmood Alam presided over the dharna and Khalil Ansari conducted it. After the dharna, a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister regarding their demands was handed over to the Deputy Commissioner.

Chief guest former MP Bhuneshwar Prasad Mehta said that hundreds of agitators were martyred in the fight for a separate Jharkhand state. They suffered torture and went to jail but even after 24 years of the formation of a separate state, the government has not done anything for the agitators. He demanded the government to identify the agitators and provide them respectable pension and other facilities.
A large number of Jharkhand agitators including General Secretary Pushkar Mahato, Bateshwar Prasad Mehta, Chandranath Bhai Patel, Shabnam Parveen, Sukhdev Yadav, Ganesh Kumar Situ, Sanjar Mallick, Nandlal Mehta, Saddam Ansari, Misbahul, Karim Ansari, Anwar Ahmed, Indradev Kushwaha, Digambar Mehta, Vipin Sinha were present in the protest.
