Chandigarh: Punjab's Power and Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO said here today that in honour of hockey Olympian Germanpreet Singh, the Government Senior Secondary School of his village Rajdhan has been renamed as 'Olympian Germanpreet Singh Government Senior Secondary School'. He said that he has written a letter to School and Higher Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains in this regard and requested him.
The Power Minister said this would be done as a tribute to Germanpreet Singh's outstanding contribution to the bronze medal winning hockey team in the recent Paris Olympics. He said being a resident of village Rajdhan under Jandiala Guru, Germanpreet Singh's achievement is a matter of pride for the constituency and Amritsar district.
