Hoshiarpur: A case of selling school records as scrap by the Principal of Government Elementary School Purhiran and another unknown person has come to light. The register of birth dates of prominent children was also seen in the records.

According to the information received, the head teacher of the government school, who has additional charge of this school, today started packing the school records in sacks and selling them in the dustbin. Seeing the media at the spot, he created a ruckus and slipped away from the spot. Meanwhile, another unknown person who came with the school management initially told the media to leave from there, but when the media started asking him questions, he immediately ran away and entered a mansion located near the scrap shop. . Despite repeated inquiries, he was neither told his name nor his position. The most important thing in the garbage was the birth records of the old students of the school and their attendance during school.

In this regard, the school principal said that he is facing difficulty in keeping the new records, due to which the old records are being sold as scrap. He admitted that he had made a mistake nor had he taken permission from anyone to sell government records.

In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that he will seriously investigate the matter whether the school management has completely adopted the norms of selling garbage or not.

If old school records are destroyed by flood or natural disaster or fire then it is important to sell them, no permission is required for this. Even if the date of birth record is 100 years old, it cannot be sold as scrap. To sell old records, it is necessary to obtain a proposal from the School Management Committee and permission from the District Education Officer.
