Government connected remote areas of Ladakh with 4G network

To strengthen the communication infrastructure in the border areas, the government has started providing 4G network facilities in remote areas of Ladakh. These also include areas like Galwan and Demchok, which are located on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. Now people living in these areas will be able to take advantage of 4G network. Indian Army in collaboration with Airtel has deployed a total of 42 4G towers at important locations like Kargil, Siachen, Daulat Beg Oldie, Galwan, and Demchok.

Reaching 4G connectivity in these remote areas will bring many benefits to the local people and the soldiers deployed on the border.

An Army officer termed it a “gamechanger” initiative that will improve the lives of civilians and security forces living in these remote areas.

Starlink will bring even easier internet access

Elon Musk’s company Starlink is soon going to launch its satellite based internet service in India.

  • Satellite Internet: This technology does not require any tower or ground infrastructure.
  • Beneficial in remote areas: This service will make internet access easier in remote areas like Ladakh.

Jio and Airtel will also bring satellite internet soon

Jio and Airtel are also preparing in this direction.

  • TRAI sent recommendation: Telecom regulator TRAI has sent the recommendation for spectrum allocation to the Department of Telecommunications.
  • Launch Preparation: Starlink will launch its service in India after the allotment.
  • Preparation of Jio and Airtel: Both the companies have completed their paper process.
