Government committed to honor and help martyrs: Hemant Soren

Ranchi, 28 November (HS). Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday took a big step towards honoring the martyrs on the very first day of taking oath as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand state.

The Chief Minister handed over a check of Rs 10 lakh as ex-gratia grant amount to Hulasi Devi, mother of martyr Agniveer Arjun Mahato, resident of Fatehpur village in Chandankyari block of Bokaro district. Along with this, appointment letter was given to Balram Mahato, brother of martyr Agniveer. During this time, MLA Kalpana Soren, MLA Umakant Rajak and martyr’s sister Lakshmi Kumari were present.

The Chief Minister said that our government has always stood with the martyrs at every step. The state government is always ready to honor and help the martyrs. He told the officials that he will ensure to provide benefits of various welfare schemes of the government to the family members of martyr Arjun Mahato. The Chief Minister said that our government has already taken a policy decision to provide an ex-gratia amount of Rs 10 lakh to the families of Agniveers who are martyred like soldiers and to provide a government job to one of their dependents.

It may be noted that Agniveer Arjun Mahato of Jharkhand was posted in Silchar, Assam. He was martyred in an encounter with militants late on the 21st of this month.
