Gorakhpur, 13 August (HS). A new alignment has been added to the construction of Gorakhpur- Siliguri Expressway. Under this, the link road which was to start from Kushinagar to Gorakhpur will now extend from Kushinagar and connect to the link road of Purvanchal Expressway. Due to the connection to Purvanchal Expressway, those going from Siliguri to Delhi or Motihari to Delhi will reach Delhi directly by connecting to Purvanchal Expressway link road via Gorakhpur- Siliguri Expressway. Earlier this road was ending at Gorakhpur bypass.
According to the information received from the department, 95 km of road is to be constructed in East Champaran. While in West Champaran, there will be 24 villages in 23 km of two zones of Bairia and Nautan. 17 villages will be included in 16 km in Shivhar. In the light of the new instructions of the government, work has been started at the departmental level. DPR will also be made as per the instructions of the next order. Out of 540 km Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressway, 816 km expressway is in Bihar, which includes eight districts. Which includes West Champaran, East Champaran, Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Kishanganj, Araria etc.
In this expressway, the biggest bridge will be built on Gandak River and Koshi Bridge between Bettiah and East Champaran. Apart from this, bridges will also be constructed on many small and big rivers including Budhi Gandak, Bagmati. In the 540 km Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressway, 816 km expressway is in Bihar. Which includes eight districts. Which include West Champaran, East Champaran, Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Kishanganj, Araria etc. In this expressway, the biggest bridge will be built on Gandak River and Koshi Bridge between Bettiah and East Champaran. Apart from this, bridges will also be constructed on many small and big rivers including Budhi Gandak, Bagmati. 17 thousand 700 will be spent on construction of roads and culverts in a distance of 540 km – 16 flyovers will be constructed between Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressway. 25 interchanges will be made on the expressway to change the road, so that people get convenience. There will be a total of 31 major bridges. In which a big bridge will be built on Gandak and Koshi. The expressway will pass through many railway lines, for which nine rail bridges will be built. NHAI officer Amresh Kumar said that according to the first survey, about 17 thousand 700 crore rupees will be spent on bridges and roads. This expressway is now being connected to the link road of Gorakhpur Link Expressway in UP. This will provide convenience to people going to Delhi. Seven thousand crores will be spent for land acquisition.
