Google Pay: Now Google Pay will not work in this country, know the reason behind it..

Tech giant Google has announced that it is shutting down the Google Pay app in the United States from June 4, 2024. The company said the move aims to simplify Google's payment options by moving all features to the Google Wallet platform.

Giving information about this in its blog post, the company said that Google Wallet remains the primary place for people to safely store the payment cards used for Tap Add Pay in stores. It also protects other digital items like transit cards, driver's licenses, state IDs, etc. To streamline such app experiences, the US version of the standalone Google Pay app will no longer be available for use starting June 4, 2024.

Google said in the blog that the Google Pay app will be shut down in the United States, but the app will remain operational in other markets like India and Singapore.

For the millions of people who use the Google Pay app in India and Singapore, nothing will change as we continue to adapt to the needs of those countries.

Users in India and Singapore will be able to send or receive money and pay bills, apart from all the other features.

Google Pay users will need to transfer to Google Wallet before the June deadline to continue using services like contactless payments in stores.

The blog post reads that you can continue to access the most popular features – Tap to pay in stores Payment methods will be managed directly from Google Wallet.

After this, users in the US cannot request or receive payments from other individuals through the Google Pay app.

With this, users will no longer be able to use the Google Pay app for in-store tap-and-pay or manage payment cards.

The company has advised Google Pay users to shift to the Google Wallet app, which combines features like virtual debit/credit cards, tickets, passes, and tap-to-pay.
