New Delhi: Google has taken strict action against fraudulent accounts by showing advertisements. 1.2 crore such Google accounts have been blocked. Google's annual report states that 1.2 crore accounts have been prosecuted for creating and displaying advertisements to users with the help of deepfakes and violating Google's advertising policy and these accounts have been blocked after investigation. . Google said that no compromise can be made regarding the security and privacy of users. That is why these steps have been taken. According to Google's report, users were being cheated by using deepfake technology in the name of showing advertisements. For example, some time ago a deepfake video of Sachin Tendulkar had surfaced. This was a fake advertisement. At first glance, users think that Sachin himself has made this announcement. Even in the Lok Sabha elections, warnings were given about such misuse of deepfakes.

Google said that the company is working to make elections transparent. In 2023, more than 5000 election-related advertisements were verified and allowed on the Google platform only after verifying whether they were appropriate or not. 73 lakh ads were removed from the platform by the company for violating Google's policy by placing false ads. The company claimed that advertisements which have not been verified have also been removed from the platform. Google said that because of AI, the task of verifying ads has become more challenging for the company.
