Goods train derails near Pradhankhanta station, many trains affected

Dhanbad, 6 April (Hindus). A goods train derailed on Saturday near Pradhankhanta station of Dhanbad Railway Division. Due to this, operation of many trains was affected for about three hours. All the trains on this route were stopped at different stations. In which 12019 Howrah-Ranchi Shatabdi Express was stopped at Pradhankhanta, 22387 Howrah-Dhanbad Black Diamond Express at Asansol, 13503 Bardhaman-Hatia MEMU Express at Barakar, 08677 Vishnupur – Dhanbad MEMU train was stopped at Pathardih. Due to this incident, wheels of trains had stopped on Dhanbad-Sindri-Tata railway route as well as on Howrah-Delhi railway route.

After the station master informed the railway control about the incident, an accident relief vehicle was sent from Dhanbad. It was told by the Railways that the empty goods train rake was sent to Pathardih. A bogie of a goods train derailed near Pradhankhanta crossing. Due to the incident occurring at the crossing, rail service on both the up and down lines of the Dhanbad-Sindri-Tata rail route as well as the Howrah-Delhi rail route was affected. At present, operations on these routes have become normal.

The reason for the incident is not yet known. Initially there has been an error in the point. Engineering, Operating and Safety Department officials have been instructed to investigate.
