7th Pay Commission Latest News Today: There is a good news for the central government employees regarding dearness allowance. The data of dearness allowance to be increased in July 2024 has come out. In which it is clear that once again there can be a big jump in the dearness allowance of the employees. The Labor Bureau has released the data determining dearness allowance. The figures for three months have been released together. Looking at the current trends, there can be an increase of up to 3 percent in dearness allowance. The figures for two months are still to come. After that the actual number will be known. At present, dearness allowance has reached 53 percent.
Increase in AICPI index
The AICPI index decides how much the dearness allowance will increase. The figures between January and June 2024 will decide how much dearness allowance the employees will get from July 2024. So far, the figures for January, February, March, April have come. The figures for May will come in June. Let us tell you here that the central employees coming under the 7th Pay Commission have been getting 50 percent dearness allowance till now. Now this dearness allowance will increase in July. In January, the index was at 138.9 points. Due to which the dearness allowance increased to 50.84 percent. Then in February the index was at 139.2 points, in March 138.9 points and in April at 139.4 points. On this pattern, the dearness allowance has reached 51.44 percent, 51.95 percent and by April 52.43 percent.
53 percent dearness allowance will be given!
According to experts, only 3% revision is expected in dearness allowance. According to the index, till April, dearness allowance is at 52.43%. The figures for May and June are yet to come. If the index increases by 0.5% in June, it will reach 52.91%. After that, the index has to touch 143 points, then there is a possibility of dearness allowance increasing by 4%. But such a big increase will not be seen in the index. Therefore, this time the employees will have to be satisfied with only 3%.
When will the next revision in dearness allowance take place?
The next amendment in the dearness allowance of employees is to be implemented from July. But its announcement can be made by September or October. Actually, the June data will come by the end of July. Then it will be decided on the basis of that how much the increase is going to be. Then the file will reach the Finance Ministry from the Labor Bureau and then it will be approved by the Cabinet. Therefore, it takes time but it is certain that by September or October, the dearness allowance to be implemented from July will be approved. After this, the increased DA will also be paid from the salary of the month for which the approval is received. The arrears of the intervening months are paid.
Dearness Allowance will not be zero
The dearness allowance of the employees will not become zero. The calculation of dearness allowance will continue. There is no fixed rule regarding this. This was done last time when its base year was changed. Now there is neither any need nor recommendation to change the base year. Therefore, the forward calculation for central employees will continue to go above 50 percent.
