Kedarnath Tunnel Project: Every year millions of pilgrims come to see Kedarnath Dham dedicated to Lord Shiva. In such a situation, pilgrims have to go through many difficult paths. Now the government is looking for another alternative route to reach Kedarnath Dham for the convenience of pilgrims. Two routes will be available to reach Kedarnath in the next 4-5 years.
The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has now prepared to build a 7 km long tunnel to make the route up to Kedarnath Dham easily and easy. After the construction of this tunnel, the distance from Gaurikund to Kedarnath Dham will decrease from 16 kilometers to 5 kilometers.
There will be two ways to reach Kedarnath Dham after the tunnel is built. The first is the 16 km long route from Gaurikund to Rambara-Lincholi and the second is the tunnel route. The Ministry has conducted a preliminary survey of the mountain for the tunnel construction. According to the information, this tunnel will be built from Chaumasi to Linchoni, the last village of Kalimath Valley in Uttarakhand, which is at an altitude of 6562 feet above sea level. Let us tell you that there is still a paved road till Chaumasi. This will be followed by a 7 km long tunnel, after which you have to travel 5 kilometers on foot.
Please tell that at present, one has to walk 16 kilometers from Gaurikund to reach Kedarnath Dham. During this time, passengers have to resort to mules and many bumpy paths.
The 16 km long route from Gaurikund to Rambada is 9 km long, 2 km long from Rambada to Lincholi, and 5 km long from Lincholi to Kedarnath Temple. This entire walking route is on the banks of the Mandakini River.
