Chandigarh: With an aim to provide the farmers of the state with the latest technology-based machinery for efficient management of paddy stubble, the Punjab Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department has procured Crop Residue Management (CRM) machines and the portal for farmers to avail the subsidy has been reopened till September 19, 2024.
Giving information in this regard in a press statement today, Punjab Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian said that the farmers of the state can now submit applications for the purchase of CRM machinery online at agrimachinerypb.com till 5 pm on September 19, 2024. He urged the farmers of the state to avail maximum benefit of subsidy on crop waste machinery
The Agriculture Minister said that so far 21,830 applications have been received from farmers, cooperatives and panchayats for availing subsidy on purchase of crop residue management (CRM) machinery during 2024-25 Kharif season. He said that the Agriculture Department has distributed 13,107 CRMs so far. 7,832 approval letters have been issued for the machines and farmers have received 5,833 CRMs. Machines have been purchased.
S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian said that the Punjab Government is providing 50% subsidy to individual farmers and 80% subsidy to farmer groups, cooperatives and gram panchayats on purchase of CRM machinery. He said that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann started CRM on subsidy to farmers. An action plan of Rs 500 crore has been prepared to provide machinery and implement other strategies to tackle the problem of stubble burning in the state.
