New Delhi: According to the order of the Ministry of Personnel, the Central Government has increased the limit of Children's Education Allowance (CEA) and Hostel Subsidy of Central Employees. The government has taken this step after announcing increase in dearness allowance from January 1, 2024. If we look at the guidelines of 2018, whenever Dearness Allowance (DA) increases by 50 percent, children's education allowance and hostel subsidy will automatically increase by 25 percent.
This increase will be effective from January 1
According to the Ministry of Personnel and Finance Ministry on March 12, 2024, the 50 percent increase in dearness allowance of central employees will be effective from January 1 this year. Therefore, notice has been taken from various quarters regarding the increase in Children Educational Allowance (CEA) and Hostel Subsidy. Children's education allowance will be Rs 2,812.5 (fixed) per month and hostel subsidy will be Rs 8,437.5 (fixed) per month.
Orders have been issued to central ministries
Education allowance for disabled children of central employees will be double the normal. Currently the normal rate is Rs 5,625 per month (fixed). In the order issued to all the central ministries, it has been said that there is a special allowance for the care of children of disabled women. It is Rs 3,750 per month (fixed). All these increases are effective from January 1, 2024.
