There is good news for air passengers. Now they will not have to wait long to get their goods. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has asked seven airlines to ensure delivery of passenger bags within 30 minutes. BCAS has directed airlines to implement necessary measures within 10 days till February 26. After this, airline companies have improved their services. Now after this instruction, air passengers will get great convenience and they will not have to wait long to collect their luggage at the airport.
According to officials, BCAS on Friday wrote to seven airlines, including Air India, IndiGo, Akasa, SpiceJet, Vistara, Air India Express Connect and Air India Express. In fact, passengers have been complaining for a long time that their luggage was delivered much after the arrival of the flight. Taking cognizance of this, BCAS has directed the airlines to ensure that the luggage of all passengers reaches the airport within 30 minutes of flight landing.
The official said that since the start of the review process, the performance of all the airlines is being monitored on a weekly basis and there has been improvement but it is not as per the order. The official said that after the flight engine stops, the first bag should arrive within 10 minutes and the last bag within 30 minutes. The official said that at present this monitoring is being done at six major airports.
