Gonda Traders have expressed concern over the acute shortage of commercial gas cylinders. Due to non-availability of cylinders in the market, the work of hotels, restaurants and confectioners has been completely affected, causing huge loss to the local economy.

The industry trade delegation of Gonda has submitted a memorandum to the district administration highlighting its problems:
Crisis on business: Due to non-availability of commercial gas cylinders, small dhabas and restaurants are on the verge of closure. Traders say that demand is going to increase after Holi and in the upcoming festival season, but the supply chain has completely collapsed.
Fear of black marketing: Traders alleged that cylinders were being sold at higher prices by showing artificial shortage. He has demanded from the administration that the stock of gas agencies should be checked.
Demand for equitable distribution: Traders have demanded that the quota of commercial gas should be ensured so that middle class businessmen do not face problems.
Ground reality of gas crisis in Gonda

Long waiting list: After booking the gas, it is taking 8 to 12 days to get the delivery.
Home delivery stopped: In many areas, vendors have stopped home delivery citing shortage of cylinders, due to which people have to visit the warehouses themselves.

Gonda District Supply Officer (DSO) has assured the traders that constant contact is being made with the gas companies. The administration claims that the supply will improve in the coming 2-3 days and strict legal action will be taken against those hoarding.
