Mumbai: Gold and silver prices rose in the Mumbai jewellery market today. There was news that the price of gold in the world market has reached a high of $2600 per ounce. After the Federal Reserve cut the interest rate by half a percent in the US, the dollar index and bond yield fell globally and active buying of funds in gold was seen in the world market.

The country's jewelry markets remained bullish today due to the rise in domestic import cost along with the rise in the world market. However, new demand in the market remained slow due to Shradh Paksha. In Ahmedabad jewelry market today, the price of gold rose by Rs 300 from Rs 99.50 to Rs 75,700 per 10 grams and silver from Rs 75,900 to Rs 99.90 per gram. Ahmedabad silver price rose by Rs 500 to Rs 87500 per kg.

Gold prices in the world market were directed to remain at $2580 to $2581 after hitting a high of $2600. Behind gold, global silver prices were higher at $31.40 to $31.50 and $31.09 to $31.10 an ounce. Meanwhile, news came that unemployment claims in the US fell by 12,000 to 2,19,000. There, such jobless claims fell to a four-month low. After this, there were signs that the job market is strengthening.

Meanwhile, crude oil inventories in the United States fell by 1.6 million barrels, less than expected, by 1.3 million barrels on Monday, the US Energy Information Administration said.

Meanwhile, platinum prices rose from 979 to 980 to 995 to 991 to 992 dollars in the global market today. However, palladium prices fell from 1115 to 1042 to 1096 to 1097 dollars. Global copper prices rose 1.56 percent today. Crude oil prices also rose in the world market. Brent crude prices rose by 73.16 to 74.62 dollars per barrel and US crude prices rose by 70.66 to 71.79 dollars per barrel.

In Mumbai bullion market today, the price of gold without GST was Rs 73191 at 99.50, Rs 72694 per liter and Rs 73485 per liter at 99.90. While the price of silver in Mumbai was Rs 87406 to Rs 88418 without GST. The price of gold and silver in Mumbai was 3 percent higher than this price including GST.
