Gold price today: The price of gold has declined locally today due to the global precious metal market. Gold closed at Rs 2.55 per litre in the morning session on the country's bullion exchange MCX. It fell to Rs 109. 73160 per 10 grams (5 August futures) is being quoted. While MCX silver has fallen by Rs. 406.
Gold price in Ahmedabad was increased by Rs. 200 on Saturday. After being recorded at Rs. 75500 per 10 grams, the price is expected to fall to Rs. 74800-75000 today. Gold price in the retail market is expected to remain around Rs. 73740 per 10 grams.
Bullion investors are waiting for clear signals from the Fed on interest rates. Therefore, the precious metal has strengthened. On the other hand, the dollar has strengthened due to strong expectations of US President Donald Trump's victory after the shooting attack. Globally, gold fell by $ 7.90 to $ 2412.80 per ounce and silver came down to $ 31.04 per ounce.
Gold became costlier by Rs. 944 on MCX last week
MCX Gold August futures opened the week at Rs 72,412 per 10 gram, touched an intra-day high of Rs 73,333 and a low of Rs 72,111 during the week, ended the week higher by Rs 944 at Rs 73,311. Against this, Gold-Guinea July contract rose by Rs 8,562 to Rs 59,071 per gram and Gold-Petal July contract rose by Rs 54 to Rs 7,209 per gram. Gold-Mini August futures rose by Rs 849 to Rs 73,205 per 10 gram.
Silver price on MCX increased by Rs. 2229
In silver futures, silver September opened at Rs 92,211 per kg at the beginning of the week, touched an intra-day high of Rs 94,590 and a low of Rs 91,499 during the week, closed the week higher by Rs 2,229 at Rs 94,190. Chandi-Mini August contract rose by Rs 2,201 to close at Rs 94,093, and Chandi-Micro August contract rose by Rs 2,196 to close at Rs 94,078.
