Gold falls by Rs 300 to close at Rs 76,000

Mumbai: Gold and silver prices continued to fall sharply in Mumbai's jewellery market today. The country's jewellery markets witnessed a slowdown today as domestic import costs fell due to a fall in prices in the world market. In Ahmedabad's jewellery market today, the price of silver fell by Rs 2500 per kg while the price of gold fell by Rs 300 per 10 grams.

The price of gold in the world market was at 2401 to 2403 to 2404 dollars and the lowest level was 2464 to 2465 dollars per ounce. The prices of other precious metals also declined against gold in the world market. Global silver prices were at 28.94 to 29.10 to 29.11 dollars per ounce, which declined from 30.36 to 30.37 dollars per ounce.

Platinum prices ranged from a low of 993 to 994 to a high of $955 to $962 to $963. Palladium was priced at $922. Global copper prices fell 0.54 per cent today. World market insiders said copper prices have fallen significantly this week and this week witnessed the weakest week since 2022.

Meanwhile, the price of gold at Mumbai bullion market today fell from Rs 73,683 without GST to Rs 72,947 at 99.50. While the price of 99.90 was quoted at Rs 73979 and Rs 73240. Silver price in Mumbai stood at Rs 91,555 and Rs 88,983 without GST. This happened after the rise in crude oil prices in the global market.

Brent crude prices were at a high of 84.85 per barrel, ranging from $85.35 to $85.05. While US crude prices were at a high of $82.72, ranging from $82.88 to $82.74. In the Mumbai currency market late in the evening, the price of dollar against rupee rose to Rs 83.72 from Rs 83.71.
