Get rid of electricity bill by installing solar rooftop, government will also give subsidy: CDA

CDO Abhishek Kumar reviewed the implementation in the district of the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, launched by the Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi with the aim of lighting approximately one crore houses across the country with the renewable energy scheme, in the Collectorate Auditorium on Monday. During this period, due to low progress in relation to the target of Rs 20 thousand, the officials of the Electricity Department and Alternative Energy Department were instructed to motivate as many people as possible to avail the benefits by providing them information about the importance of the scheme. He suggested the officials to motivate more and more entrepreneurs, businessmen, progressive farmers and other capable people of the district to get the benefits of the scheme by coordinating with the concerned officials.

CDO Abhishek Kumar said that to get detailed information about PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, any person can go to Google Play Store in his Android mobile and download the related PM Surya Ghar App and iOS PM-Surya Ghar App. Under this scheme, banks are also providing loan facility on interest to interested persons for installation of solar rooftop under PM Surya Ghar Renewable Energy Scheme.

Project Officer (UP NEDA) Kamlesh Singh Yadav said that people interested in solar rooftop installation can get the necessary information on the link of Jan Samarth portal: jansamarth.in/solar-roof-top-scheme. During the meeting, it was told that under the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, for a solar rooftop of one kilowatt capacity, the central grant is Rs 30,000 and the state grant is Rs 15,000. The total grant is fixed at Rs 45,000. Whereas for two kilowatt capacity, the central grant is Rs 60,000 and the state grant is Rs 30,000, the total grant is fixed at Rs 90 thousand. On installation of solar rooftop of 3 kilowatt to 10 kilowatt capacity, the beneficiary will get a central grant of Rs 78,000 and a state grant of Rs 30 thousand, totaling Rs 1 lakh 8,000, against the total cost. The remaining amount will have to be given as beneficiary's contribution. District representatives of various banks, bankers and all the executive engineers of the electricity department, authorized vendors of the scheme were present in the meeting.
