The day is not far when traveling by air taxi will become a reality. You will be able to come by air taxi from IGI Airport or anywhere else. PM Modi said this at the summit of Civil Aviation Ministers in the Asia Pacific region. PM Modi has been constantly saying that the country is getting ready for advanced air transport.
Prime Minister Modi emphasized that air travel in the country should be made safe and affordable for the common man. According to PM Modi, 'After the arrival of air taxi, unlimited jobs and employment will be created, do you know when air taxi can start in India?' How much change will come in the road transport system with its arrival?
If we talk about Delhi-NCR 20-25 years ago, buses and autos were the main means of transport for common people. Later the metro came and different areas of Delhi-NCR were connected. The metro gradually spread to many major cities of the country like Lucknow, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and Patna. But, now the talk of starting air taxis in the country has started. It is being said that by the end of this year, taxi services will start in some cities of the country.
People will forget road transport and metro services
According to media reports, after the start of this service, you can reach Gurugram from Connaught Place in New Delhi in just 7 minutes. For this, Archer Aviation will provide 200 electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. Five people including the pilot will be able to travel in this air taxi.
In the initial phase, the joint venture of InterGlobe Aviation and Archer Aviation intends to offer its services to New Delhi as well as Mumbai and Bengaluru. However, the fare for this service may be Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000.
Consumer and transport affairs expert Sunil Tyagi said in a conversation with a private channel, 'Look, Prime Minister Modi's latest statement on air taxi services is very important. It should be seen as an effort to further improve the urban transport system. Due to the increasing number of vehicles on the roads in the last few years, traffic jams and congestion have become common in many cities including Delhi. In such a situation, electric VTOL aircraft can be one of the best options. This service can be fast, quiet and environmentally friendly for passengers.
