Varanasi, 04 October (HS). State Urban Development Minister AK Sharma held a virtual review meeting on Friday regarding cleanliness and lighting arrangements in Varanasi city during Dussehra and Diwali festivals. In the meeting, the Urban Development Minister directed to repair all the other lights including faulty street lights in the city. He gave special directions regarding the faulty street lights of ESL. He said that the top officials of the company should visit the city soon and decide what are the reasons causing delay in repairing the faulty lights.
The Minister directed Municipal Commissioner Akshat Verma to improve the cleanliness of the city during the upcoming Durga Puja, Dussehra and Diwali festivals. And garbage should be collected regularly at all places. Asked for information about the progress of road construction in the newly expanded areas. On this, Mayor Ashok Kumar Tiwari suggested that if roads are built after laying sewer and drinking water lines, then the roads will not deteriorate for a long time. Principal Secretary Urban Development Amrit Abhijat, Director Local Bodies Anuj Jha and Municipal Corporation officers were present in the meeting.
