General Manager of NF Railway inspected the development works in Katihar Division | News India

Katihar, 30 August (HS). General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway Chetan Kumar Srivastava on Friday inspected the development works and railway facilities at Jogbani, Forbesganj, Araria, Purnia and Katihar stations under Katihar Railway Division area. In this regard, Chief Public Relations Officer Kapinjal Kishore Sharma said that during the inspection, the Railway General Manager was accompanied by Katihar Divisional Railway Manager Surendra Kumar, senior officials of the headquarters and division. Railway General Manager Shri Srivastava inspected the stations on the Jogbani Katihar railway route and took stock of the progress of various developmental works going on between Araria-Purnia section as well as safety related equipment at railway stations.

During the inspection, General Manager of EC Railway Shri Shrivastava tested the speed of 120 kmph on Araria-Purnia section. He interacted with the railway officials at the stations and took feedback on various issues and enquired about their awareness on various safety related materials.

The General Manager of Railways inspected important places like Marshalling yard, Coaching yard, minor and major bridges, Coaching depot, Railway colony, Curves and LC gates. He inspected USFD demonstration and crossover at Forbesganj station yard. He also inspected various installations related to electrification works at Araria. The General Manager inspected the plans for new station building, foot over bridge, platform and other passenger amenities works. He also inspected all safety points at Jogbani, Araria and Purnia stations and various ongoing station developmental activities.

The purpose of the visit of the General Manager of Railways to Katihar Railway Division was to review the progress of various development works, assess the facilities at various locations, interact with officials and discuss plans for infrastructure development and business expansion in the region. His positive assessment of the ongoing works reflects the dedication and commitment of Northeast Frontier Railway in its efforts to provide safe, efficient and comfortable travel experience to passengers.

On returning to Katihar with all his railway official team from his special GM inspection train, Railway General Manager Chetan Kumar Srivastava held a review meeting with all the railway officials in the auditorium and also gave many guidelines in view of the convenience of the passengers. Railway General Manager Shri Srivastava said that a new coaching complex is to be built in Jogbani and after the work of coaching depot is done, the train will originate from Jogbani. The work of Araria Galgalia is likely to be completed by next year, while the newly announced Jalalgarh Kishanganj survey work is going on. New Vande Bharat and other proposed trains will also be run soon in different directions in the division. Katihar station has been connected to Amrit Bharat station which is moving in the direction of development.

On this occasion, all the railway officials of the headquarters and division including DRM Surendra Kumar, ADRM Manoj Kumar Singh, Senior DCM Dhiraj Chandra Kalita were present along with Railway General Manager Shri Srivastava. After the meeting in the late evening, the Railway General Manager along with his convoy left for Guwahati via NJP.
