Kathua 28 October (Hindus). Government Degree College Kathua Department of Environmental Science and Ravi Eco Club organized an educational field trip to Jasrota Wildlife Sanctuary. The yatra was organized under the patronage of the college principal, Professor Seema Mir.
He formally sent off the students for the journey in the presence of Dr. Ram Singh, Professor Sharda Anand, Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, Sandeep Sharma, Professor Meena Devi and Dr. Pratima Sangra. The objective of the trip was to study the biodiversity of the sanctuary, to provide students with practical experience of the rich flora and fauna of the area. More than 35 students actively participated in this informative field trip to Jasrota Wildlife Sanctuary.
The educational trip was conducted under the supervision of Professor Arvind Kumar, Head of the Department of Environmental Sciences and faculty members namely Dr. Hilal Ahmed and Dr. Anjali. Students explored different aspects of the sanctuary's ecosystem, observed the diversity of species and learned about the importance of conservation efforts. This practical experience was designed to complement their academic curriculum, deepening their understanding of environmental science and biodiversity. Principal Professor Seema Mir stressed the importance of such trips, saying that such field experiences are important in promoting environmental awareness among students and encouraging them to play an active role in conservation efforts.
