You might be surprised to know but it is true that Gautam Adani, the second richest man of India was given a remuneration of Rs 9.26 crore for the financial year 2023-24.

This is less than his key industry peers and his own executives. Adani, 61, owns a chain of 10 companies in sectors ranging from ports to energy, but he draws salary for only two of the 10 companies, annual reports of the 10 listed companies of the Adani Group showed.

The remuneration paid to Gautam Adani by flagship firm Adani Enterprises (AEL) includes a salary of Rs 2.19 crore, perquisites, allowances and other benefits of Rs 27 lakh.
