Garuda Purana is considered a very important scripture in Sanatan Dharma, in which a very in-depth description of life, death and the afterlife is given. It is generally believed that when the last time of a person comes, the messengers of Yamraj i.e. Yamdoot come to take his soul. The form of Yamdoots is very terrifying and scary for sinful people, but some very secret rules are also mentioned in this Purana. According to the scriptures, there are three types of lucky people whom even the Yamdoots themselves do not dare to approach. Let us know who are those special people according to Garuda Purana.
1. True devotees who are absorbed in devotion to God.
The first place in this list belongs to those people who dedicate their entire life to the worship and remembrance of God. According to Garuda Purana, the end time of a person who chants the name of God all the time is extremely peaceful and dignified. There is no fear of death in the minds of such virtuous people. When his last breaths are taking place, the Yamdoots do not even bother around him. To receive these pious souls who chant the name of the Lord, the divine counselors of Lord Vishnu in extremely beautiful and peaceful form come directly from Vaikuntha Dham and take them respectfully in their plane.
2. Those who do charity and service selflessly
The second rule applies to those people who are always ready to help the destitute. In the scriptures, giving food to the hungry, serving the sick and wiping the tears of others has been described as the greatest religion. The person who is engaged in the welfare of the society without any selfishness or greed, immense virtues get accumulated in his account. Yamraj’s messengers have the right to take by force only those people who have tortured others throughout their life. The Gods of heaven themselves come to welcome charitable people who do good to others.
3. People who follow the path of truth and religion
The third category includes those people who, no matter how many adverse circumstances come their way in life, never choose the path of lies, deceit and dishonesty. Garuda Purana says that speaking the truth and performing one’s responsibilities with complete honesty is also a difficult penance. Those who serve their parents, do not hurt anyone and live within dignity, they never face the fear of Yamraj. Yamdoots greet such pure hearted people from a distance. While giving up their life, they do not suffer even an iota of pain and their soul directly attains salvation or the best worlds.
This is the divine fruit of good deeds
These things from Garuda Purana teach us that instead of being afraid of death, we should improve our present deeds. The person who stays away from greed, hatred and deceit, his end times improve automatically. If our mind is clean and we are on the path of religion, then we do not get the tortures of Yamdoots but get the ultimate refuge from God.
