Cannabis cultivation: Assembly committee Himachal Pradesh assembly has passed a crucial resolution to legalise cannabis cultivation. The committee proposed the cultivation of cannabis for medical and industrial purposes, highlighting its potential as a financial asset for the state.
Finance Minister and Vidhan Sabha Committee Chairman Jagat Singh Negi spoke in detail about the report and the potential benefits of hemp cultivation. He said the idea was initially brought in the Vidhan Sabha under Rule 130, which was supported by both the ruling and opposition parties.
Negi said, 'The committee visited all the districts of Himachal Pradesh and consulted the local people on how hemp cultivation can be used for medical and industrial purposes. Meanwhile, the session of Himachal Pradesh Assembly has been extended by a day which will now run till September 10.
