Ganga canal closed for 19 days for annual maintenance

Haridwar, 11 October (HS). The upper section Ganganahar will be closed from the midnight of 12th and 13th October for annual maintenance by the Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department. After completion of repair and cleaning work, water supply to Ganganahar will resume from the midnight of October 31 and November 1.

Giving information, SDO Anil Nimesh said that Ganganahar will be kept closed for about 19 days. During this period, the work of painting the canal, repairing bridges, cleaning silt, and repairing drains and drains made for irrigation will be done.

Due to the annual closure of Ganga Nahar, the water supply to Delhi will also be disrupted during this period. However, water supply at Har Ki Paadi will remain adequate.
