Ganesh Visarjan 2026: Missed morning time due to office, auspicious auspicious time of evening and night on 5th day

The holy Ganeshotsav, which started from Ganesh Chaturthi, is being celebrated with great joy and devotional atmosphere in the entire country including Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Delhi-NCR. According to the scriptures and family traditions, many devotees take a religious resolution to keep the idol of the first revered Lord Shri Ganesha installed in their homes and establishments for one and a half days, five days, seven days or till Anant Chaturdashi i.e. the tenth day. This year, the fifth day of the 5-day Ganesh Sthapana is ending on 18 September 2026. In such a situation, among the devotees who had pledged to bid farewell to Bappa on the fifth day, many working people could not immerse the idol in the morning or afternoon due to their busy morning routine and office work. According to Vedic astrological calculations, there is no need to worry, because even in the evening and night, extremely auspicious and auspicious Choghadiya Muhurta is available to give a heartfelt farewell to the destroyer of obstacles.

According to astrologer Shri Chandresh Sharma, an expert in Vedic astrology and Panchang calculation, Choghadiya is considered to have special significance as per the scriptures for Ganesh immersion. It is extremely auspicious for the family to bid farewell to Bappa in the Choghadiya of Char, Labh, Amrit and Auspicious in the time cycle of the day. Even after the day’s Muhurta has passed for the fifth day on 18th September 2026, two major time slots are available in the evening and night, in which devotees can ritually immerse Ganpati Bappa as per their convenience:

  • Morning time (passed): 6:11 am to 10:45 am (Chaghadiya of Char, Labh and Amrit).

  • Afternoon time (passed): From 12:17 pm to 1:48 pm (Auspicious Chaughadiya).

  • Auspicious time of evening: From 4:51 pm to 6:22 pm (Chaar ka Choghadiya).

  • Special time of night: From 9:19 pm to 10:48 pm (Labh ka Choghadiya). If you are not able to spare time during the day due to job or business, then you can immerse Bappa between 4:51 pm to 6:22 pm or between 9:19 pm to 10:48 pm with full respect, drums and Vedic chanting.

Ganesh Visarjan in Sanatan Dharma is not just a formal religious tradition, but it is a deeply philosophical symbol of the eternal truth of life and the universe. According to the scriptures, the immersion process gives us the universal message that no form, position, glory or material thing is permanent in this mortal world. Just as the beautiful idol of Lord Ganesha made of natural clay gets dissolved again in the water element after worshiping for a few days, in the same way this human body is also made up of five elements and ultimately has to be merged into the same nature. This festival teaches that instead of having excessive attachment and attachment to worldly achievements, priority should be given to duty and selfless action. The resolution of serving Bappa for five days and immersing him reflects this selfless devotion and dedication.

Before bidding farewell to Ganpati Bappa, it is mandatory to perform the last puja as per the rituals at the place of worship of the house. For this, all the family members should come together and wear clean clothes. First of all, apply tilak of Akshat, Roli, sandalwood and vermillion to Lord Ganesha. After this, offer them 21 bundles of beloved Durva, fresh red hibiscus or marigold flowers and sacred thread. Offer modak, gram flour laddus, seasonal fruits and coconut as offerings. After that, light incense and lamps and perform the Aarti of Lord Ganesha along with the family. Before starting the immersion journey, hold water and flowers in hand and pray to God with folded hands: “O remover of obstacles, please forgive us for any kind of error committed in the puja due to ignorance or mistake and always shower your blessings on our family.”

After prayer for forgiveness and aarti, pick up the idol of Lord Ganesha with both hands and touch it with your forehead and then respectfully sit on a wooden platform by spreading a red or yellow cloth on it. After this, proceed from home towards the immersion site, holy river, reservoir or clean water pond made at home. Keep the atmosphere resonating with chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya, Agle Baras Tu Jaldi Aa” all along the way. After reaching the immersion site, instead of throwing the idol with a jerk, float it slowly in the water with utmost respect and love. Also, pray to God that he takes away all the troubles, diseases and poverty from the house with him and goes with blessings of happiness, peace and prosperity.
