According to the accurate calculation of the Panchang and astrological rules, understand the exact date of Ganesh Chaturthi this year, the auspicious time of midday puja and all the important things related to the establishment of Ganpati here in detail so that Bappa’s arrival in your house can be done with full rituals.
Ganesh Chaturthi 2026: Exact date and mathematics of Panchang
According to the Vedic calendar, Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month is starting in the year 2026. This time the main festival of Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on Monday, 14 September 2026, on the basis of Udaya Tithi and Madhyahna Vyapini Muhurta. Panchang experts say that mid-day is considered the best time for Ganesh installation, which is available on 14th September. Therefore, in most parts of the country, devotees will install the idol of Vighnaharta Ganesha in their homes and pandals on 14th September itself.
Most auspicious time of establishment of Bappa (Madhyahna Muhurat)
There is a special and fixed time for installing the idol of Lord Ganesha which is called ‘Madhyahna Muhurta’. Morning and afternoon time will be most fruitful for Ganesh Sthapana on 14 September 2026. During this auspicious time, devotees can welcome Bappa to their homes with rituals. It is considered very auspicious to sit facing north or east during puja. If established at an auspicious time, happiness, peace, prosperity and positive energy reside in the house, and all types of obstacles are removed.
Simple method of installing and worshiping Ganesh at home
On the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, wear clean clothes after taking bath in the morning. Place a stool in the Ishaan corner (north-east direction) of your house and spread a red or yellow colored cloth on it. Now purify that place by sprinkling Ganga water. After this, install the Satvik and eco-friendly idol of Lord Ganesha there. Offer Roli, Akshat, Durva grass (which is very dear to Lord Ganesha), sacred thread, betel leaf, betel nut, modak and garland of flowers to Bappa. Perform Aarti with full devotion by lighting incense sticks and lamps and chanting the mantra ‘Om Gan Ganpataye Namah’.
Bappa’s offering and special importance of Modak
Offering things dear to Lord Ganesha is the most important part of this festival. Lord Ganesha likes modaks and laddus very much, hence modaks are offered to him every day from the first day till immersion. Apart from this, fruits, Panchamrit and coconut are also offered as Prasad. It is believed that by offering Modak to Bappa with a true heart, he fulfills all the wishes of his devotees and removes all the thorns and troubles from their life.
Anant Chaturdashi and date of Ganesh immersion
This holy festival of Ganeshotsav lasts for a total of ten days, which ends on the day of Anant Chaturdashi. In the year 2026, Ganesh Visarjan will be done on Wednesday, 23 September 2026. For these ten days, Aarti is performed regularly in the morning and evening and the entire atmosphere around becomes devotional. Those who bring Bappa for one and a half days, three days or five days can do the immersion even earlier than that as per their tradition and convenience. At the time of immersion, a prayer is made to Bappa that he visits our house again next year.
