President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have today greeted all the countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. The President and Prime Minister Modi have sent congratulatory messages on their respective X handles. Regarding the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, Prime Minister Modi said, Ganeshotsav is also a festival of national consciousness.

Festivals are the strength of society. Festivals infuse new life in society. Ganesh pandals decorated in every street and locality provide leadership skills to the youth. In such a situation, Lokmanya Tilak is greatly missed. Ganeshotsav is the gift of the popular Tilak. He made this religious event a festival of national awareness.

In Hinduism, Lord Ganesha is worshipped in the memory of the first Ganesha who is known as Vidhanharta. He removes inauspiciousness and gives auspicious results. Ganesh Chaturthi marks the beginning of the 10-day Ganesh festival. This year Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated on 7 September. Aarti of Lord Ganesha was performed in the morning in temples in almost every part of the country.
