Ingredients for making Puran Poli
- soaked gram lentils
- Jaggery – 1 cup
- Cardamom – half a teaspoon
- Wheat flour – 2 cups
- Flour- 1 cup
- Salt – as per taste
- Ghee – as needed
- Nutmeg – 1 pinch
Puranpoli Method of preparation
– First of all, cook the soaked gram lentils with 1 teaspoon ghee and turmeric in a cooker till 2-3 whistles. – After this, separate it from the water and take it out in a vessel. Now mash these boiled lentils lightly. – After this, add jaggery and cardamom powder in a pan and let it cook for 5 minutes until the jaggery melts. – After this, add mashed lentils to it and mix well. Keep stirring it till a soft textured paste is ready. When this paste is ready, keep it aside to cool.
Prepare the dough for making puranpoli
After this, prepare the dough. To prepare this dough, you will need flour, refined flour, salt and a little ghee and water. With the help of all these things, prepare it in the same way as you knead normal dough. After kneading this dough, apply a little ghee on top and cover this dough with a wet cloth and leave it for 20 minutes.
To serve puranpoli, add 1 tablespoon of Desi Ghee on top
