Ingredients for making Shrikhand
- 1 kg fresh thick curd which is not too sour
- Powdered sugar to taste
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup cream
- 1/2 tsp black cardamom powder
- 1/4 tsp saffron
- 2 tbsp chopped almonds, pistachios and cashews
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Method of making Shrikhand
To make Shrikhand, first strain the curd in a muslin cloth or mesh sieve so that the excess water from the curd is drained out and the curd becomes thick. – Now put this curd in a vessel and add sugar powder to it and mix it well. If the curd is too thick, then add milk to dilute the mixture. – Now add cardamom powder and soaked saffron for taste and color.
Shrikhand will become like cream
If you want, you can also add cinnamon to it. Now mix it well. If you want, you can also add cream to it. This will make Shrikhand creamy. Now after mixing it well, cover it in a vessel and keep it in the fridge to cool for at least 2 to 3 hours. – After this, add finely chopped dry fruits like cashews, millet and pistachios to it.
