Ganesh Chaturthi 2024: Ganesh Utsav starts from the Chaturthi date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrava month. On the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, Ganpati Bapa is established in every house. Ganesh Utsav lasts for 10 days. Lord Ganesha is worshiped on the day of Anant Chaudas. This year Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on 7 September 2024 and Saturday. Ganesh ji will be established in the house on this day. It is said that Lord Ganesha descends on earth on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi. During this time, devotees worship Ganpati ji with great pomp.

Auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi

According to the Hindu calendar, Ganesh Chaturthi will begin on September 6 at 3.01 pm. It will last from Chaturthi to 5.37 pm on September 7. According to the Udaya date, Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on September 7 and Saturday. The idol of Ganesh ji will be installed on this day. The time from 11.03 am to 1.34 pm on September 7 is the most auspicious for installation.

Ritual for establishing Ganesha in the house

On the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, wake up early in the morning, take a bath and wear yellow or red clothes. After this, bring the idol of Ganpati ji home with the chanting of Ganpati Bapa. After this, start worshipping Ganpati Bapa as per the rituals. Spread a red cloth on the stool, put rice on it and make a swastika with sandalwood. Now install the idol of Ganpati ji on it. While installing the idol, chant the Ganesh mantra 5 times.

After installing the idol, sprinkle Gangajal on Ganesha and offer Janoi, sandalwood and Durva on the idol. After this, offer yellow flowers and fruits to the Lord and light a lamp. Offer 21 modaks to the Lord and then perform aarti. Then express your wish to the Lord. Feed all the prasad to the Lord.

Do not make this mistake during Ganpati Puja

-Never install the idol of Ganeshji in the south or south-west corner.
– While worshipping Lord Ganesha, do not offer him Tulsi or conch
– Do not wear blue or black colored clothes during the puja.
